What is Defending Faith Today?

To provide resources on current topics which are at odds with Biblical teaching.  Topics include Spiritual Formation and the impact that the New Age is having on modern-translation Bibles.

First and foremost, that the Holy Bible is God's word (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:19-21). 

This site is a resource for those interested in digging deeper into issues facing the church.  I have "kept in my lane" during  30+ years of discipleship, but one day, someone said:  "have you ever read this book . . .? " and its been quite a journey since. 

Because these issues have come to the doorstep of my family and church, and because of the clear leading of the Lord into this arena, I cannot be silent.  My plea is for those with "ears to hear" to become educated on these issues, and arm yourselves with discernment, for the sake of yourselves and your hearers.

 In today's information age, the need to sort through all the teachings being presented is greater than ever. We don't know what we don't know.  Finding the truth takes digging a few layers deep.   The enemy is an expert at concealment and distortions.   Our weapons to combat this deceit are discernment - the use of the Scriptures "to distinguish good from evil" (Hebrews 5:14).  

The articles on this site have been selected with the purpose of getting a "newbie" up to speed quickly.   My goal is to present resources that teach with great patience and careful instruction and hope that you examine the facts and Scriptures with an open mind.  

Non-biblical sources are also extremely important in the discernment processes, but all-too-often ignored.  I get that.  I was that way for many years.  But,  for example, when Jesus instructs us to NOT pray "like the pagans", it becomes incumbent on us, yea, even crucial, to understand - - what are the practices of that pagans that he is referring to?  Without that knowledge, we can fall prey to the enemy, who takes the good things that God has created and twists them.  This applies to New Age and Occultic practices.  Check the Research Resources.
